Los Altos History Museum

In early 2023, the Los Altos History Museum in California unveiled its remodeled permanent exhibition and simultaneously mounted a retrospective in its rotating exhibition gallery. I brainstormed and designed the first-draft collateral pieces for the retrospective, The Past Shapes The Future, using two themes proposed by the client: (1) showcase postcards from past exhibits and (2) create a History Museum word cloud. Below are a few of the designs I delivered to the museum’s in-house marketing team. These designs use past postcards for the exhibit’s Intro Panel, large Outdoor Banner, and Website Announcement and a museum word cloud for the Handout Postcard and Back Anchor Wall. Also shown is a design for Quotes that line the top of a long side gallery wall.

TeamBuilding ROI

TeamBuilding ROI (TBROI) is a team building company headquartered in California. I worked with them from 2014 through 2021, when they sold the company. During covid lock down, they offered virtual team building events. For 15 virtual events, I designed and wrote the flyers. I also researched and wrote the entire Virtual Holiday Trivia Tour program.

The TBROI Virtual Holiday Trivia Tour is a remote around-the-world program celebrating Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and New Years. The questions include holiday song and toy trivia, which can be omitted to shorten the program. The TBROI web master implemented this program for the web.

To make sure their events remain fresh for repeat customers, TBROI adds new programs yearly. I designed and wrote flyers for new programs.

Covid threw the team building business into a tail spin. Between the initial masking and the total lock down, TBROI offered “safe” programs. I proposed the name 6 Feet of Separation and designed the logo and flyers for the programs.

Home Energy Analytics

Home Energy Analytics (HEA) is a California company whose mission is to reduce household greenhouse emissions by helping consumers lower their energy/water use and by encouraging utilities companies and regulators to deploy cost-effective residential efficiency programs. Their web-based software employs advanced, user-friendly smart meter analysis enabling consumers to identify vampire loads, fix unnecessary usage, and measure their savings.

I worked with HEA from its inception through 2015. I designed their logo, websites and collateral for energy upgrade programs with the City of Mountain View (EUMV), Unplug Stuff website, and first corporate website. Samples here are from websites. An HEA presentation is on Sample Page 1.

I designed and wrote a short video for HEA to introduce their UnPlug Stuff app. The storyboard is here. Wish I could find the finished video!
